NFTY-OV Winter Kallah

NFTY-OV Winter Kallah is a weekend of learning, growing, laughing, and building meaningful relationships with other Reform Jewish teens. The entire weekend of programs, activities, prayer, and fun is planned by teens in collaboration with HUC, for teens. Register today!

  • Wrestle with hot topics and challenge your assumptions during interactive teen-led programs.
  • Reunite with old friends and make new ones at this weekend retreat hosted on the HUC-JIR Cincinnati campus.

WE NEED HOST FAMILIES:

This event is open to any Jewish teen in grades 9 to 12


  • Teens are expected to participate in the entire event. Fees are set at a full package rate and unfortunately we cannot prorate registration.
  • Registration is on a space available basis only.
  • HUC-JIR has limited dorm space. Priority will be given to seniors and upperclassmen (if space is available). Home hospitality will be offered to the remaining participants not staying in HUC-JIR dorms.

Travel is arranged by your local congregation/temple youth group advisor. Please be in touch with them directly to determine your travel or if you have any travel related questions.

Every participant must travel to/from the event with an adult over the age of 21 (advisor, parent/guardian), including to and from the bus stop. No participants may drive themselves to, from, or during the event. This is NFTY policy to ensure the safety and well-being of our teens.

By Car: If you are being dropped off/picked up by an adult, please plan to be dropped between 4:30-5:00 on Friday and picked up at 10:45am on Sunday. Please be on time.

HUC-JIR has limited dorm space. Priority will be given to seniors and upperclassmen (if space is available). Home hospitality will be offered to the remaining participants not staying in HUC-JIR dorms.

Meals are included in the cost of this event.

Further information will be sent 1 week before the event that will include important information regarding the event as well as a complete packing list.

A more detailed packing list will be in your final confirmation email the week prior to the event. In the meantime, please use the following.

Check local weather to determine proper attire. Casual, comfortable clothes for the weekend Warmer clothes (jacket, hoodie, sweats) Friday Night Shabbat attire (dressy casual) Sleeping bag (or sheets and a blanket) and pillow Towel and Toiletries (shampoo, toothbrush/paste, hairbrush, etc.) Medication (you are responsible for your own medication) Money for Shuk (OV store) so you can buy some swag Flashlight Water bottle

Please do not bring anything valuable as NFTY is not responsible for any personal belongings.

If you need to cancel, the registration fees you paid will be refunded as follows:

Through December 29, 2016 – 90%Through January 5, 2017 – 75%Through January 12, 2017 – 50%

After January 12, 2017 we will not be able to issue any refunds for cancellation. If you have a documented medical emergency and must cancel after January 12, 2017 you will be refunded 75% of the registration fees you paid.

All cancellation must be in writing. We will accept cancellations by email to nftyov@urj.org. We’re sorry, but we cannot accept cancellations over the phone. Please allow up to six weeks after the conclusion of the event for your refund to be processed.
