The time has finally come for NFTY-OV JYG Kallah. Many of you are now wondering, “Wait, was that even English?” So let’s translate!
NFTY: The North American Federation of Temple Youth (the youth arm of the Union for Reform Judaism).
OV: The Ohio Valley Region - serves Jewish Teens in Kentucky (excluding Paducah); Indiana (excluding the northwestern corner); Ohio (excluding Cleveland and its suburbs); Nashville, Knoxville, and Bristol, TN; and western West Virginia.
JYG Kallah - The Junior Youth Group Kallah for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders in NFTY-OV. A Kallah is a convention, a gathering of youth from around our region for a weekend of teen-created educational, spiritual, and of course social activities. At a Kallah teens worship together, learn from interesting and exciting programs, participate in a social action project, and of course have tons of fun.
Friday evening - check in, services, dinner, mixers and games
Saturday morning - creative services, song session, and lunch
Saturday afternoon - chooes your own electives that feature sports, arts, and science, then some free time
Saturday evening - dinner, Havdallah ceremony and a fun evening social (think life size board games, entertainers, dancing, etc.)
Sunday morning - breakfast, closing activities, and saying goodbye to your new friends from across the Midwest!

This event is open to any Jewish teen in grades 6 to 8.

WE NEED HOST FAMILIES:
It is expected that families that live within 30 minutes of Congregation Beth Tikvah will volunteer as host homes. Learn more about the requirements for housing and sign up >
Every participant must travel to/from the event with an adult over the age of 21 (advisor, parent/guardian), including to and from the bus stop. No participants may drive themselves to, from, or during the event. This is NFTY policy to ensure the safety and well-being of our teens.
Please do not bring anything valuable as NFTY is not responsible for any personal belongings.
Through January 31, 2019 – 90%
Through February 7, 2020 – 75%
Through February 14, 2020 – 50%
After February 14, 2020 we will not be able to issue any refunds for cancellation. If you have a documented medical emergency and must cancel after February 14, 2020 you will be refunded 75% of the registration fees you paid.
All cancellation must be in writing. We will accept cancellations by email to firstname.lastname@example.org. We’re sorry, but we cannot accept cancellations over the phone. Please allow up to six weeks after the conclusion of the event for your refund to be processed.
