NFTY OV Junior Youth Group (JYG) Kallah

March 18-20, 2016

The time has finally come for NFTY-OV JYG Kallah. Many of you are now wondering, “Wait, was that even English?” So let’s translate!

NFTY: The North American Federation of Temple Youth (the youth arm of the Union for Reform Judaism)

OV: The Ohio Valley Region - serves Jewish Teens in Kentucky (excluding Paducah); Indiana (excluding the northwestern corner); Ohio (excluding Cleveland and its suburbs); Nashville, Knoxville, and Bristol, TN; and western West Virginia.

Kallah: A Kallah is a convention, a gathering of youth from around our region for a weekend of teen-created educational, spiritual, and of course social activities. At a Kallah teens worship together, learn from interesting and exciting programs, participate in a social action project, and of course have tons of fun.

Your children can make lasting relationships with other Jewish teens from around the Ohio Valley Region! The event will begin at 5pm on Friday, March 18th and will conclude at 10am on Sunday, March 20th.

The NFTY678 Ohio Valley Junior Youth Group Kallah (JYG) is a weekend of learning, growing, laughing, and building meaningful relationships with other Reform Jewish teens. Whether it’s your first third JYG Kallah, we hope you’ll spend time with our community.

We are excited to be at URJ GUCI. This is the perfect opportunity to hang out with your friends from all over the Ohio Valley and you can create more connections than ever!

Early Bird Registration Cost: $155.00

Regular Registration Cost: $175.00

This event is open to any Jewish teen in grades 6 to 8.


Regional Board and JYG Chairs Registration Cost: $110.00

  • Meals are included in the cost of this event
  • Teens are expected to participate in the entire event. Fees are set at a full package rate and unfortunately we cannot prorate registration. 


Travel is arranged by your local congregation/temple youth group advisor. Please be in touch with them directly to determine your travel or if you have any travel related questions.

By Car: If you are being dropped off/picked up by an adult, please plan to be dropped at 5:00pm on Friday, March 18, and picked up at 9:30am on Sunday, March 20. It is imperative is dropped off and picked up on time. The address for URJ GUCI is 9349 Moore Rd, Zionsville, IN 46077

A more detailed packing list will be in your final confirmation email the week prior to the event. In the meantime, please use the following.

Check local weather for 46077 to determine proper attire. Warmer clothes (jackets, hoodies, sweats) Casual, comfortable clothes for the weekend Friday Night Shabbat attire (dressy casual) Sleeping bag (or sheets and a blanket) and pillow Towel and Toiletries (shampoo, toothbrush/paste, hairbrush, etc.) Medication (you are responsible for your own medication) Money for Shuk (OV store) so you can buy some swag Flashlight Water bottle

Please do not bring anything valuable as NFTY is not responsible for any personal belongings.

Further information will be sent 1 week before the event that will include important information regarding the event as well as a complete packing list.

If you need to cancel, the registration fees you paid will be refunded as follows:

Through February 25, 2016 – 90% Through March 3, 2016 – 75% Through March 10, 2016 – 50% After March 10, 2016 we will not be able to issue any refunds for cancellation. If you have a documented medical emergency and must cancel after March 10, 2016 you will be refunded 75% of the registration fees you paid.

All cancellation must be in writing. We will accept cancellations by email to We’re sorry, but we cannot accept cancellations over the phone. Please allow up to six weeks after the conclusion of the event for your refund to be processed.
